How to be a good soldier like Uriah

Uriah a good soldier, the men of the town went out and had a fight with Joab: and a number of David’s men came to their death in the fight, and with them Uriah the Hittite. (2 Samuel- 11:17). Uriah means ‘flame of the LORD. He is one of the heads of David, a Prowess soldier, and his house was near the house of David, Uriah wife was bathsheba, she was very beautiful.

Uriah was with David in battle in many battles and gave Israel victory, he is a devotee of God. That the work at the king is a good profit, he had no idea of ​​gaining power. He made use of his strength for God, one who hopes to preserve the ark of God.

Be ready to do without the comforts of life, as one of the army of Christ Jesus.(2 Thimothy 2:3). This Uriah was one of those who fought like a good soldier, with David! He will make those who join the army who will be happy. In the spring, David sent his army to war, and he slept at home, one day David woke up at sunset time, wandering above the building, he looked at the bathing woman.

David, Knowing that she was uriah wife, david had sex with her. Now in the spring, at the time when kings go out to war, David sent Joab and his servants and all Israel with him; and they made waste the land of the children of ammon, and took up their position before rabbah, shutting it in. But David was still at Jerusalem.

Now one evening, David got up from his bed, and while he was walking on the roof of the king’s house, he saw from there a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful.  And David sent to get knowledge who the woman was. And one said, Is this not Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam and wife of Uriah the Hittite? and David sent and took her; and she came to him, and he took her to his bed: (for she had been made clean;) then she went back to her house.(2 Samuel-11:1-4).

David betrayed Uriah, a capable man, then when she knew she was pregnant, David summoned Uriah from the war. David told him to go home and take rest, but without going to Uriah’s house, the king slept at the entrance of the building.

When the matter is known to the king ,and the woman became with child; and she sent word to David that she was with child, And David sent to Joab saying, send Uriah the Hittite to me. And Joab sent Uriah to David, And when Uriah came to him, David put questions to him about how Joab and the people were, and how the war was going.

And David said to Uriah, go down to your house and let your feet be washed. And Uriah went away from the king’s house, and an offering from the king was sent after him, but Uriah took his rest at the door of the king’s house, with all the servants of his lord, and did not go down to his house. And when word was given to David that Uriah had not gone down to his house, David said to Uriah, have you not come from a journey? why did you not go down to your house?(2 Samuel 11:5-10).

Truly, i will not come into my house, or go to my bed, I will not give sleep to my eyes, or rest to my eyeballs, till i have got a place for the Lord, a resting-place for the great God of Jacob. (Psalms 132:3-5). In any case, uriah taken care of his work. uriah was good soldier. We must also trust in God.
